Leveling up Spins
Advanced: Floor camel to cross-catch to sit tuck combination spin demonstration
12s
Purpose: In this balance exercise, skaters can work on keeping their hips aligned and square and not dropping their free side shoulder when grabbing their free leg in the cross-catch camel. Skaters should also practice not dropping the leg to grab it, but keeping it level as the free knee bends in for the cross-catch. When moving to the tuck position, skaters should practice keeping good alignment over their skating side so that their free side does not drop.
Focus: Axis, alignment, balance, stability, proper position, hips level, free side lifted, shoulders level
