Purpose: This exercise will help skaters work on the transfer of weight and pivot motion of their hips of the toe loop. This drill will help them focus on opening the foot and hips to allow the free leg through. It also helps skaters feel the proper foot position prior to the toe loop take-off. Skaters should feel the push off their free leg, with the transfer of weight to the toe on their skating side to snap their free side through.
