Base exercise: Left forward outside three turn
Variation: From stationary, starting perpendicular to a line.
Purpose: Practicing a three turn from stationary helps skaters learn how to place their turn at the top of the curve. Starting perpendicular from a line helps give skaters reference points where to start and end their three turn.
Rotation: Corotational Focus: Turn placement and lobe size Body alignment focus: Free foot tucked to help keep free hip lifted and checked back
Common mistake: Not turning at the top of a curve, uneven lobes, turn placement
